English composer and conductor George Benjamin made his Royal Opera debut in 2013 conducting his opera Written on Skin, which he returned to conduct in 2017. For this new work, Benjamin will once again work with librettist Martin Crimp and this new commission will involve five singers and chamber orchestra. Following its premiere at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in July 2023, this will be the opening production on our Linbury Theatre stage for the Royal Opera House 23/24 Season. This will be followed by performances at Opéra national du Rhin, Strasbourg (September 2024), at Mulhouse (October 2024), at Opéra Comique (October 2024) and two dates at Luxembourg (March 2025).
