Oonchancy

Hirundo Rustica

CONCERT | EDUCATIONAL PROJECT | RESIDENCY

Oonchancy: Dopey Monkeys’ Danielle Price (UK) & Martin Thomson (UK) from Moray, Scotland, meet Breton musicians Jean-Luc Thomas (FR) & Gab Faure (FR). Their shared love for melody, improvisation, and rural heritage unites them. “Oonchancy,” from Doric dialect, means ‘uncanny.’ They aim to create an original repertoire inspired by the traditional music of two rural areas: one from Trégor and Central Brittany, and the other from Morayshire in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland. They aim to enrich the musical landscape by offering unique and innovative compositions while preserving and celebrating the cultural heritages of the rural regions they come from.
