Little Woodland Heights

CONCERT | EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

“Little Woodland Heights” (LWH) – a 10 part, interactive music-making project for children aged 8-11, exploring connections between forest ecology and music. Delivered in Britain and Ireland by the composers/facilitators Francesca Le Lohé (UK), Fiona Linnane (IR), Simon Roth (UK), Alexandra Skevington(UK), and Sophie Cooper (UK), the programme includes music and ecology workshops, a forest excursion and a final performance showcasing music written by the young people, alongside a tree-planting.

It feels like we delivered something that has encouraged lifelong interest in both nature and music and in a way that allowed each child to grown in confidence to a point where they were happy to stand up and share their learning with enthusiasm and understanding.

Alexandra Skevington, lead facilitator
