Signals
CONCERT | TOUR | RESIDENCYSignals is a new Franco-British collaboration between BCMG and Ensemble C Barré (Marseille), pairing co-commissions from Tristan Murail and Misato Mochizuki with a structured mentoring programme for three emerging composers, culminating in public performances. Delivered across Birmingham and Marseille, the project combines commissioning, talent development and learning outreach, deepening UK-France artistic exchange while investing in the next generation of composers.
“We are delighted that Diaphonique is facilitating a collaboration between the Ensemble C Barré, whose instrumental line-up is truly unique, and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, which is one of Britain’s leading lights in the field of new music.
This brand-new artistic and human encounter will be brought to life by the works of particularly inspiring composers based in France and the United Kingdom. It will also foster a collaboration with three young British and French composers, each of whom will create a piece for our musicians through a series of masterclasses led by our associate composers; these works will be premiered alongside our concerts.”
